Each month, the Jerome Chamber of Commerce works hard to bring events like this one to you. This month, they are sponsoring the Music Scene at the Jerome Art Center, Saturday, November 5th, beginning at 4:00 p.m., into the night, along with Sponsors, the Little Daisy, and Old School Studios. Datura Yoga and Wellness: will be offering chair massage and mini sound baths, jewelry crystals and singing bowls for sale. Bring an offering for the Day of the Dead alter to honor our ancestors. David Carroll: David Carroll is a professional artist living in Sedona, AZ. Dave was a commercial artist for 15 years and has had a fine art practice for the past 25 years. He paints landscapes and figurative work primarily in oil, and has been sculpting for 40 years. Dave will be doing demonstrations of both painting and sculpture from 4pm - 8:00pm. Some of his students will be showing their work in the hallway. His studio is in Building A, Studio 304. Beth Courtright-Detwiler: Beth is working on a Digital Portrait Series of recent Chalk Pastel Drawings and will have prints available in the studio during art walk 11" X 14" Prints Available by Beth Courtright-Detwiler Bill Root: Bill is a painter, printmaker and mixed media artist. His work is in many public and private collections, and he has had one person exhibitions in Paris, France, and Venice, Italy, as well as in other venues in the US and abroad. In addition to his own work, Bill has a large collection of tribal art from all over the world for sale in his studio, #202 in Building A. Steven Schutz: Steven specializes in colored—pencil art and paintings, and is offering various sizes of prints, mixed-media paintings, framed and unframed. Look for Steven in Studio A-203. J. D. Hunt: Josh is currently working on pieces inspired by Día De Los Muertos. Meet him in Building A, upstairs Studio 301. Blue Moose Studio, Janie Layers: Janie is a Sculptor with a working studio in Building B, on the far end downstairs. Stop by and marvel at her unique style with clay. You can find her on social media @jesusinjerome. Black Lodge: Meet Miss Kitty, tattoo artist, at the Black Lodge on the first floor of Building C, open at noon. Enjoy the new Vintage Shop's soft opening on the top floor during the art walk. Zushka Biros: Calling All Artists! Bring your sketch pads, paints, and easels! Join Zushka and YCC Art Teacher, Leo Beltran, in Building A, upstairs Studio 306, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Model, April, a professional dancer, will be posing for us. This will be a fun couple of hours, and a great way for you to see what we do every Thursday afternoon from 1:00 - 4:00. You do not want to miss this! Welcome Steven during his Late for Class Art & Music Show on Saturday, June 6th, 2020, from 5 - 8:00 p.m. All of Steven's original artwork will be on sale throughout the night, and any day of the week. August Featured Artist of the Month: Beth Courtright-Detwiler"Art is my charter on the way to knowing and being known. I like using primary and secondary colors, with contrasting black and white, because it reminds me of childhood." - Beth Courtright-Detwiler Beth's painting style is heavily influenced by "symbolist" and "abstract-figurative" artists of the early to mid 20th Century Moderns. She also has a great deal of interest in the iconic and intriquing images of ancient civilizations, particularly the cultures of the Ancient Near East. Beth likes naive art, outsider art and urban street art genres because of their authenticity in expression. Her studio will be hosting an ART POP-UP event at the Jerome Art Center on Saturday, August 4th. This free public arts event is open to visitors of all ages and will be held during the day, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and again during the evening's Open Studio Jerome Art Walk tour, 5 - 8 p.m. You can find Beth in Building A, Studio 301. Art Show & Music Hosted by Red Bench™ GalleryThe party starts at 5 p.m. with Red Bench™ Gallery's August Artist, Mr. Babies, and concert by DJ Dexx. This is the artist's debut show, and his first public appearance ever. Mr. Babies' "Psychedelic Analog Collage Art" will be on display with selected limited editions available for purchase in Building A, at the end of the hallway on the bottom floor. DJ Dexx will be performing outside at the back of the buildings on the old tennis court. Join the dance party and enjoy the light-show till 10 p.m. HOW TO GET HERE: When driving up the mountain on 89A, the Jerome Art Center is the first set of buildings on the lefthand side of the road. There is a driveway between the first 2 buildings - take that and go around to the back parking lot. The DJ will be performing outside to the right of the parking lot. Nearest building is: 887 Hampshire Avenue, Jerome AZ 86331. Parking is limited, car-pooling is suggested. You can also take advantage of the free shuttle service and park at the top parking lot behind the fire station (see map below.) Collaborative Community Art Event with Karon LeighKaron Leigh invites families with children ten and under to participate in a free collaborative painting process, working together to create a mural-sized painting celebrating life in the Verde Valley from 10am – 1pm in studio 201 of building A. When children engage in hands-on art activities, they learn much better in all disciplines. Collaborative art projects connect children with a shared language that crosses other cultural boundaries.
